Mercerised Cotton
Cotton, refined through a special process.
Mercerisation সাধারণ cotton yarn-কে একটি বিশেষ treatment-এর মাধ্যমে আরও smooth, lustrous এবং refined finish দেয়। এর ফলে yarn colour আরও beautifully absorb করতে পারে এবং fabric-এ আসে একটি subtle premium sheen।
Raytan-এর এই versionটি আমাদের requirement অনুযায়ী তাঁতিদের দিয়ে customised weaving করা—যেখানে ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে 120 Shana, giving the saree a denser, smoother and more refined weave.

What does “Count” mean?
“Count” মূলত yarn-এর fineness বোঝায়। Lower count মানে yarn তুলনামূলক মোটা, আর higher count মানে yarn তুলনামূলক সূক্ষ্ম।
এই পার্থক্য weaving-এর feel, smoothness এবং drape-এ প্রভাব ফেলে। Finer yarn দিয়ে সাধারণত আরও refined এবং smoother construction পাওয়া যায়, যা পরতেও বেশি comfortable feel করতে পারে।
A small but important note
Lower count মানেই lower-quality saree নয়। Different yarn count different texture, structure এবং character তৈরি করে। আপনার পছন্দের look, feel এবং usage অনুযায়ী right count বেছে নেওয়াই সবচেয়ে important।

Shana refers to the number of yarns used per square inch in the weave. A higher Shana means a denser construction.
Our 95 Count Pure Cotton and Mercerised Cotton sarees are customised Raytan sarees. We work with our weavers and specify the requirements we want for the fabric.
